Recap: Victory Christian Eagles vs. Ahoskie Christian
After flying high against the New Life Academy Bobcats last Monday, the Victory Christian Eagles came back down to earth. Victory Christian was the victim of a tough 48-28 loss at the hands of Ahoskie Christian on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Victory Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Ahoskie Christian is ranked 149th).
Ahoskie Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Wadsworth out in front who scored 18 points along with six steals and two blocks. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which Wadsworth has scored at least a third of Ahoskie Christian's points. McKenna Perry was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Victory Christian now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Ahoskie Christian, the victory (which was their 20th in a row) raised their record to 22-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victory Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Non Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Ahoskie Christian will take on Mount Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
