Fort Payne barely beat Southside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 28-6 margin over the Panthers on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Carter Blalock was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Blake Griggs was another key player, throwing for 127 yards and one touchdown on only 12 passes.

Fort Payne now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Payne will venture away from home to challenge Mae Jemison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southside, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Etowah at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
