Baseball Game Preview: North Oldham Mustangs vs. Bullitt East Chargers

North Oldham is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Bullitt East is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will host the Chargers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, North Oldham was able to grind out a solid win over Anderson County, taking the game 5-1.

Meanwhile, Bullitt East owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Bullitt Central. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bullitt East got a great performance from Garrison Miller as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Miller a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Chase Meredith was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Barnhouse, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

North Oldham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bullitt East, their win bumped their record up to 15-3-1.

Everything went North Oldham's way against Bullitt East when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as North Oldham made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
