Softball Recap: Liberty Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Liberty waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Ballard Beavers. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 7-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Avery Huh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emi Connell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Kaila Siu was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Liberty lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive games.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Ballard, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.

As of now, neither Liberty nor the Beavers have any future games scheduled.
