Noblesville extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 10-8 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Westfield Shamrocks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Millers have posted since April 14th.

Beckett Doane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Noblesville's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Schott, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Westfield, they dropped their record down to 10-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs.

On Westfield's side, they got a good showing from James Kovacs, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Kovacs has allowed over his last four contests.
