Game recap: St. Helena high school football team tops Middletown as Hoppe throws for four touchdowns

Richard Hoppe threw for four touchdowns as St. Helena (Calif.) beat Middletown (Calif.) 42-21 on Saturday.

The Saints were up 35-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Hoppe touchdown pass to Joey Brink in the first quarter.

Hoppe dashed for two rushing touchdowns during St. Helena's triumph.

Brad Beckwith played well for the Mustangs. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns.

Middletown came in surrendering 7.5 points per game this season. MHS struggled against SH's offense, which entered the game scoring 33.5 points per game.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Saints came away with a 16-2 victory.

St. Helena (7-0) will play a North Central I game against Clear Lake next week, while Middletown (4-3) will take on Kelseyville also in a North Central I game.
