After a string of eight wins, Alleghany's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Franklin County Eagles by a score of 2-1.

HANNAH HENSLEY paced Alleghany's offense, picking up eight kills. HENSLEY got some help from KENDRA DRESSLER and her 19 assists. DRESSLER was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Franklin County found their leader in sophomore Laila Randal, who had 11 assists and seven digs.

Alleghany's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Franklin County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Alleghany has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Parry McCluer on the 27th. As for Franklin County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Bath County on the 27th.
