Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but St. Mary ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Marcos de Niza Padres. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 last Tuesday.

Luis Mejia made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
