Soccer Game Preview: Varina vs. Mechanicsville

Varina hasn't had much luck against Mechanicsville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

Varina is looking to pick up the season's first win, something they couldn't quite do against Huguenot on Tuesday. The Blue Devils and the Falcons finished up their matchup with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Mechanicsville was able to grind out a solid win over Patrick Henry on Friday, taking the game 3-1. Mechanicsville haven't had any issues with Patrick Henry recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Mechanicsville's win bumped their record up to 6-1. Varina's draw makes their record 0-4-1 this season.

Varina might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Mechanicsville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
