Soccer Game Preview: St. Dominic vs. Fort Zumwalt South

The St. Dominic Crusaders will venture away from home to take on the Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Dominic is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

St. Dominic proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by seven) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their defense stepped up to hand Nerinx Hall a 1-0 shutout. Give St. Dominic's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Fort Zumwalt South won against Fort Zumwalt East on Thursday with five goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Monday. Everything went the Bulldogs' way against Ursuline Academy as they made off with a 5-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Fort Zumwalt South in their matchups with Ursuline Academy: they've now won three in a row.

St. Dominic pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. As for Fort Zumwalt South, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1.

St. Dominic couldn't quite get it done against Fort Zumwalt South when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 3-1. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
