Basketball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

If Irvington Preparatory Academy was feeling good fresh off their 59-24 takedown of Rooted School last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Irvington Preparatory Academy took a blow against the Tindley Tigers on Wednesday, falling 78-43. Irvington Preparatory Academy has struggled against Tindley recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Irvington Preparatory Academy lost, don't look at RJ Starks. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 18 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Starks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Page, who posted seven points and six boards.

Tindley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henri Maye, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. Maye is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Houston, who went 6 for 8 en route to 17 points.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Tindley, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Irvington Preparatory Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Purdue Broad Ripple at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tindley, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Tindley Tigers face off against the Gary West Side Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gary West Side will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Tindley surely won't give up without a fight.
