Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall lost against Emmonak last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Marshall Mustangs took a 77-63 bruising from the Emmonak Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Huskies are ranked 33rd).

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Emmonak, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Marshall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Emmonak will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Russian Mission on February 26th.
