Curwensville put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Redbank Valley Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Golden Tide have won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Siple made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Natalie Wischuck was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Briah Peoples, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Curwensville's victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Curwensville will face off against West Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Branch will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Curwensville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redbank Valley, they will take on DuBois Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
