Baseball Game Preview: Central Linn Cobras vs. Santiam Wolverines

For the second straight game, Central Linn will face off against Santiam. The Cobras will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering Central Linn has lost eight straight at home (dating back to last season) and Santiam four straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.

Central Linn's last matchup with Santiam could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Cobras lost 12-6 to the Wolverines. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Central Linn got a good showing from Beau Snyder, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero earned runs gave Snyder a new career-low.

At the plate, Daine Offutt and Cam Offutt stepped up to the plate in a big way. Daine went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run, while Cam went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Daine has become a key player for Central Linn: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chance Kallai, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

With the win, Santiam broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9. As for Central Linn, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 3-9.
