Softball Game Preview: Carlmont Scots vs. King's Academy Knights

The Carlmont Scots will challenge the King's Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row dating back to last season, Carlmont turned things around against Burlingame on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout. The Scots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, King's Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Capuchino on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Capuchino's batters probably weren't too happy with Katia Nesper, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up three walks). That's the most strikeouts Nesper has posted since back in April of 2024.

King's Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Carlmont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
