Basketball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Excel Christian Academy entered their game against King's Academy on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Excel Christian Academy Eagles came up short against the King's Academy Knights, falling 69-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since November 21, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Excel Christian Academy lost, don't look at Kaiden Ward. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. The match was Ward's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Mcknight, who earned eight points.

King's Academy had a senior duo take command as Everett Hollis dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds and Brayden Madison went 7 for 10 on his way to 19 points and six boards. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Madison. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tucker, who put up nine points.

Excel Christian Academy's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for King's Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Excel Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Trinity Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
