Football Recap: Trinity Prep Takes a Loss

Trinity Prep lost against Father Lopez back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saints had to suffer through a 48-14 loss at the hands of the Green Wave. The Saints were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Prep lost, don't look at Josh Shaw. Despite the final result, he picked up 127 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Shaw's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.

Rylan Demarsh had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 71 yards and one TD on only five carries for Father Lopez. Those 71 rushing yards gave Demarsh a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Ethan Jiloty, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Father Lopez, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Trinity Prep will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Father Lopez, they will head out on the road to take on Crescent City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Green Wave's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
