Baseball Game Preview: Mesa Ridge Grizzlies vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions

The Mesa Ridge Grizzlies will challenge the Colorado Springs Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesa Ridge is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Mesa Ridge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Montijo, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Montijo is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Colorado Springs Christian came into Monday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Calhan with a sharp 23-3 victory on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their one-run performance the game before.

Austin Leigh was a standout: he scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ben Garl, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base.

Colorado Springs Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calhan only posted an OBP of .400.

The win got Colorado Springs Christian back to even at 1-1. As for Mesa Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Mesa Ridge took their victory against Colorado Springs Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5. Does Mesa Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Colorado Springs Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
