Vestavia Hills waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Stevenson Patriots with a sharp 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Vestavia Hills pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vestavia Hills will venture away from home to challenge Hewitt-Trussville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Vestavia Hills 3.7, Hewitt-Trussville 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Stevenson, they will take on Smiths Station at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
