Fox Tech takes loss despite strong efforts from Timothy Morgan and Anthony Reyes

Recap: Fox Tech Buffaloes vs. La Vernia Bears

If the Fox Tech Buffaloes were riding high off their 68-42 takedown of the San Antonio Memorial Minutemen last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fox Tech suffered a tough 86-62 defeat at the hands of La Vernia on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fox Tech in their matchups with La Vernia: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Fox Tech had strong showings from Anthony Reyes, who scored 22 points, and Timothy Morgan, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reyes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jonah De la rosa, who scored two points along with 13 assists.

La Vernia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Vaun Harris out in front who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Harris continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Zepka, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Fox Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for La Vernia, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Gonzales the next time they take the court. Fox Tech will host Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while La Vernia will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
