Softball Game Preview: Kings Christian Crusaders vs. Legacy Christian Academy Lions

The Kings Christian Crusaders are taking a road trip to face off against the Legacy Christian Academy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kings Christian's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.

Kings Christian took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Alpaugh, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Buffalos 19-18 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since April 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-3 to Farmersville. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.

Josie Johnson and Lucy Gillies stepped up to the plate in a big way. Johnson went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Gillies went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory snapped Kings Christian's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-8 record. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Kings Christian beat Legacy Christian Academy 9-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
