Soccer Game Preview: Prospect vs. Piedmont Hills

The Prospect Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Piedmont Hills Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Prospect will be strutting in after a victory while Piedmont Hills will be coming in after a defeat.

Prospect's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Gunderson with a sharp 5-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Piedmont Hills' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Overfelt by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Royals are ranked 753rd).

Piedmont Hills was without their leading scorer, Jordan Diaz, in Friday's game. With Diaz sidelined, Omkar Dalal got his first action of the season.

Prospect's victory bumped their record up to 4-6-2. As for Piedmont Hills, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2-2.
