Basketball Recap: Platte Canyon Comes Up Short

Platte Canyon played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 107-32 loss at the hands of the Kent Denver Sun Devils. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-18.

Elvis Lloyd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kent Denver, going 7-for-10 to rack up 22 points and five steals. Lloyd has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Fay, who went 6-for-7 en route to 13 points and five assists.

Platte Canyon dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Kent Denver, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Platte Canyon will face off against Bishop Machebeuf at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kent Denver, they will challenge Peak to Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peak to Peak will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Kent Denver surely won't give up without a fight.
