Football Game Preview: Vallivue Falcons vs. Nampa Bulldogs

The Vallivue Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Nampa Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vallivue will be strutting in after a win while Nampa will be coming in after a loss.

While Vallivue's victory against Columbia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons slipped by the Wildcats 8-7 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Onix Carson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 139 yards. He has become a key player for Vallivue: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Vallivue didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Gavin Hamre led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Kolby Linder is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Nampa didn't have enough. They took a 42-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Emmett on Friday. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Vallivue will have to contain Dominick Almaraz as he made an impact in Nampa's last game. He threw for 223 yards and two TDs.

The victory got Vallivue back to even at 4-4. As for Nampa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Vallivue has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 181.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Nampa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 175.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Vallivue beat Nampa 25-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
