Basketball Recap: Fern Creek Comes Up Short

Fern Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Seneca Red Hawks an easy 55-31 victory. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-26 two weeks ago.

Seneca's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arionna Tunstall led the charge by putting up 14 points along with eight boards and four steals. Janell Julue was another key player, posting seven points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals.

Fern Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Seneca, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1.

Fern Creek will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fairdale at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Seneca, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 44-42 victory against Portland Christian on the 21st.
