Seeger has gone 8-2 against Covington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Covington took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Seeger, who comes in off a win.
While Seeger's victory against Southmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Mounties 8-7. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Peyton Grimmett made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. He has become a key player for Seeger: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macyn Hughes, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Seeger is 4-2 when Hughes posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Hayden Howard also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Seeger was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Covington's offense. They came up short against West Vigo on Saturday, falling 12-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.
Covington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Bishop, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.
Seeger's record is now 5-8. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seeger has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Covington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seeger came out on top in a nail-biter against Covington when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
