Softball Game Preview: Granite City Warriors vs. Alton Redbirds

Granite City is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Alton a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Granite City Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Alton Redbirds at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Granite City came up short against Greenville on Saturday, falling 22-2.

Granite City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Milyn Roehr, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double was Roehr's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Alton's offense. They lost 10-0 to Mater Dei on Monday.

Granite City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Alton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Granite City couldn't quite get it done against Alton when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
