Softball Recap: Scurry-Rosser Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blooming Grove, Scurry-Rosser was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rice Bulldogs by a score of 5-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Madison Lumpkin, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Rice off the board.

On the hitting side, Scurry-Rosser saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilie Johnstone, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Scurry-Rosser's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-16. As for Rice, they dropped their record down to 8-7-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Scurry-Rosser will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
