Softball Recap: Cooper Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cooper hadn't done well against Wylie recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cooper Cougars walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Wylie Bulldogs. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Cooper got a big performance out of Natalyn Kuhn, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelic Gonzalez, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.

With the victory, Cooper broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-8. As for Wylie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Cooper will challenge Abilene at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Abilene's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Cooper's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wylie, they are taking a road trip to take on Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
