Softball Recap: Goodhue Wildcats vs. Spring Grove Lions
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lourdes, Goodhue was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spring Grove Lions a 6-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Emma Voth made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Christianson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Jenna Nelson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Goodhue moved to 4-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Spring Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Goodhue will venture away from home to square off against Stewartville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
