Basketball Recap: Cheyenne Wells Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cheyenne Wells can now relate to. The game between the Cheyenne Wells Tigers and the Fleming Wildcats didn't end well, with the Cheyenne Wells Tigers falling 45-28. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Cheyenne Wells still got an impressive performance from Paige Ryser, who posted 11 points and five steals. Ryser has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 22 times she's played.

Fleming's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Schaefer, who scored 13 points and five steals. What's more, Schaefer posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Hayley Chamberlain, who earned 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Cheyenne Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Fleming, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Cheyenne Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fleming, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-29 loss against Stratton on the 13th.
