Basketball Recap: Centaurus Wins Going Away Against Steamboat Springs

Centaurus won the last time they faced Steamboat Springs and things went their way on Friday too. The Centaurus Warriors strolled past the Steamboat Springs Sailors with points to spare, taking the game 55-36. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Nick Jones had a dynamite game for Centaurus, going 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Esposito, who posted 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Centaurus and bumps their season record up to 5-2. As for Steamboat Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Centaurus will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Highlands Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Highlands Ranch is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. Steamboat Springs will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Middle Park at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. One thing working in Middle Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
