Carrollwood Day had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won three in a row.

Carrollwood Day never let Clearwater Central Catholic on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-11.

Lydia Chinchar paced Carrollwood Day's offense, picking up 26 kills. Chinchar got some help from Jansen Warbritton and her 23 assists. Finally, Chinchar was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrollwood Day will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Poinciana Christian Preparatory at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they will square off against Indian Rocks Christian at 6:30 p.m. on the 28th.
