Football Game Preview: Blacksher Bulldogs vs. Washington County Bulldogs

Blacksher will square off against Washington County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Blacksher is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-16 victory over St. Luke's Episcopal. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bulldogs had established a 28-point advantage.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Washington County, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Bayshore Christian, posting a 48-14 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

Blacksher better keep an eye on Conner Williams. He was instrumental in Washington County's win, throwing for 202 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in one score on the ground. Williams' passing game has become a key predictor of the Bulldogs' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Colton Loper made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Washington County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hayden Wilkins and Loper. Loper got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Blacksher pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.8 points over those games. As for Washington County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Blacksher against Washington County when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blacksher since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
