Baseball Recap: Haxtun Has No Trouble Against Merino

Haxtun made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Merino, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Fightin' Bulldogs put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 10-4 victory on Tuesday. The Fightin' Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

Colin Cone was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carter Lock, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Haxtun and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Merino, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haxtun beat the Rams by a score of 10-4 later that day.
