Preview: Ventura Cougars vs. Simi Valley Pioneers
The Ventura Cougars will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Simi Valley Pioneers at 16:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ventura fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 victory over Buena on Thursday.
Ventura found their leader in underclassman Miles Hendrych, who rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also caught a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Simi Valley humbled Del Sol with a 36-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Simi Valley, who have now won three matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Ventura's victory on Thursday bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Simi Valley, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
