Coral Gables has gone 9-1 against South Miami recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Coral Gables Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the South Miami Cobras at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Cavaliers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top against Palmer Trinity by a score of 10-6 on Tuesday.

Coral Gables let Alex Carmona and Diego Llanes loose on the outfield. Carmona went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Llanes went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Llanes has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Negron, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Coral Gables was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer Trinity only posted a batting average of .233.

Meanwhile, South Miami gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mater Bay Academy, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cobras have posted since March 11, 2024.

Coral Gables took their victory against South Miami when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coral Gables since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
