Preview: Barnegat vs. Pinelands Regional
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Barnegat. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Pinelands Regional at 7:00 PM. Barnegat will be hoping to build upon the 21-0 win they picked up against Pinelands Regional the last time they played.
Last week, Barnegat narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Shore Regional 17-14. Senior Charlie Cotton, who, was a major factor in Barnegat's success.
Meanwhile, Pinelands Regional ran circles around Matawan Regional, and the extra yardage (412 yards vs. 172.1 yards) paid off. Pinelands Regional managed a somewhat close 26-22 win over Matawan Regional. The success represented a nice turnaround for Pinelands Regional, who in their last game suffered a tough 0-31 loss.
Their wins bumped Pinelands Regional to 1-2 and Barnegat to 2-0. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this week. Who will it be ? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
