Chavez never let Sterling onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Lobos were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Ball unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to Dickinson on Monday.
