Basketball Recap: Caldwell Takes a Loss

Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Flinthills Mustangs, falling 52-25. While losing is never fun, the Bluejays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Mustangs are ranked 148th).

Caldwell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ava Newell, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points and six boards, and Kaylee Rowley, who posted no points.

Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Flinthills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

Caldwell has already played their next match, a 49-24 loss against Oxford on the 20th. Flinthills has also already played their next game (against Dexter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
