Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Victor Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 35-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Valley Christian lost, don't look at Carmandee Coghlan. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 19 en route to 24 points and eight steals. Coghlan also put up a block, which washer first of the season. Another player making a difference was Eden Lorenz, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Among those leading the charge was Asia Parks, who earned 14 points and six boards.

Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Victor, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-8.

Valley Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 51-33 loss against Seeley-Swan on the 25th. As for Victor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-11 defeat against Drummond on the 25th.
