Softball Game Preview: Eastern Hills Highlanders vs. Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles

Eastern Hills is 0-10 against Diamond Hill-Jarvis since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eastern Hills Highlanders will take on the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Diamond Hill-Jarvis took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eastern Hills, who comes in off a win.

Eastern Hills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Dunbar, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Eastern Hills put the hurt on Dunbar with a sharp 24-14 victory on Saturday. Considering the Highlanders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Diamond Hill-Jarvis came up short against Western Hills on Monday, falling 19-9. The Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Christaisha Nash was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lisette Parra, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Diamond Hill-Jarvis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

The win snapped Eastern Hills' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Eastern Hills suffered a grim 25-9 defeat to Diamond Hill-Jarvis in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Eastern Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
