Soccer Game Preview: Pinnacle vs. Desert Mountain

The Pinnacle Pioneers will venture away from home to take on the Desert Mountain Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pinnacle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Casteel, who was ranked third at the time (Pinnacle was ranked 11th). Pinnacle opened the new year with a less-than-successful 2-0 defeat to Casteel. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Desert Mountain fell victim to Casteel and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts. Wolves haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Desert Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2-1.

Everything went Pinnacle's way against Desert Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as Pinnacle made off with a 4-1 victory. Does Pinnacle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Desert Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
