Baseball Recap: Campbell County Cougars vs. Carter Green Hornets
Tuesday just wasn't the day for Campbell County's offense. They came up short against the Carter Green Hornets on Tuesday, falling 22-0. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Green Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Campbell County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Ford, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Ford's first of the season.
Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Carter, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Campbell County Cougars take on Rockwood Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Campbell County has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Carter, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Maryville Christian at 5:00 p.m. Carter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
