Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Joseph's Catholic and West-Oak squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but St. Joseph's Catholic had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, St. Joseph's Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore ALICIA HANLEY had 27 assists and 22 digs. Those 27 assists set a new season-high mark for HANLEY. EMMA JACQUES was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

St. Joseph's Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-17 record this season. As for West-Oak, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

St. Joseph's Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West-Oak, they will face off against Mountain View Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
