South Effingham wins going away against Burke County

The South Effingham Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Burke County by a score of 58-49. That 58-49 margin sets a new team best for South Effingham this season.

South Effingham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elena Hairston led the charge by scoring 22 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Hairston's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyra Guyton, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

South Effingham's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Burke County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Effingham will take on Bryan County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bryan County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Effingham in Georgia (Bryan County is ranked 65th, while South Effingham is ranked 321st). As for Burke County, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Jefferson County at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Jefferson County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
