Baseball Game Preview: Shawnee Wolves vs. Glenpool Warriors

The Shawnee Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Glenpool Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Shawnee is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Pryor on Saturday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-2. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Glenpool lost 22-4 to Edison on Saturday.

Glenpool saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Surrett, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Surrett has hit this season. Another was Gabe Wesley, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Glenpool, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Shawnee got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 against Glenpool by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
