After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marlette, Harbor Beach was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sandusky Wolves 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (104-97) Harbor Beach actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-9.

Amelia Capling paced Harbor Beach's offense, picking up 12 kills. Capling got some help from Keltie Deer and her 20 assists. Capling was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Harbor Beach's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-7-3. As for Sandusky, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-3 record this season.

Harbor Beach has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Memphis on the 18th. As for Sandusky, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Marlette on the 17th.
