Baseball Game Preview: Ropes Eagles vs. Sundown Roughnecks

For the second straight game, Ropes will face off against Sundown. The Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Roughnecks at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ropes has 12 straight wins, Sundown has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Ropes made easy work of Sundown and carried off a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Cutter Stumbo looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kade Franklin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryland Keith, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs.

Ropes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in ten consecutive contests.

Ropes' record is now 16-3. As for Sundown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
