Preview: Raymond Seagulls vs. Elma Eagles
The Raymond Seagulls will head out on the road to take on the Elma Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Raymond's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They came out on top against Forks by a score of 56-47.
Raymond relied on the efforts of Austin Snodgrass, who scored 19 points along with two steals, and Christopher Quintana, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Snodgrass has scored all season. Talan Yearout was another key contributor, scoring three points along with 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Elma beat Hoquiam 60-49 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Elma.
Elma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cason Seaberg led the charge by scoring 21 points. Seaberg hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Traden Carter, who scored 11 points along with five assists and two steals.
The victory got Raymond back to even at 8-8. As for Elma, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Raymond, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-54 loss to Elma in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Raymond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
